J. SCOTT WILLIAMS is a bankruptcy specialist with over 34 years of experience in all aspects of bankruptcy and debtor/creditor law, including individual and small business bankruptcies, corporate insolvency, creditor and trustee representation in complex business bankruptcies, federal and state court receiverships, bankruptcy litigation and insolvency-related transactions.  He has represented a wide range of debtors, creditors, creditor committees and trustees in court-supervised reorganizations and out of court restructurings.  Currently, his practice emphasizes the representation of financially distressed small businesses and small business owners.

Mr. Williams received B.A. and J.D. degrees from Brigham Young University, and served as law clerk to the Honorable Peter M. Elliott, United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California and United States Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Ninth Circuit. 

He has authored articles in bankruptcy journals, has served as a panelist, moderator and contributing author on bankruptcy continuing education programs, and has lectured on business insolvency and bankruptcy topics.  He currently serves on the Mediation Panel of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, and is a Past-President of the Federal Bar Association, Orange County Chapter.
